After 11 minutes of play, Black Rose 1979's Filiberto Ascencio made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Melquiades Salvatore was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jorge Handi kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Black Rose 1979's Desiderio Alvarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Huly in the 15th minute of play. Melquiades Salvatore was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Cristo Furtado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristo Furtado really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Melquiades Salvatore made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Cristo Furtado sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute, Filiberto Ascencio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Black Rose 1979 fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Black Rose 1979's Carlos Malvin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Atlanta's zone, Carlos Malvin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Salvatore came out of the goal and Carlos Malvin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristo Furtado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Melquiades Salvatore made a huge save. Filiberto Ascencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Salvatore having to interfere. Filiberto Ascencio struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Melquiades Salvatore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Rose 1979. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristo Furtado to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Black Rose 1979's Carlos Malvin got a free kick in the 51st minute. Severino Huly kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Aquiles Belasko took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Melquiades Salvatore. Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Carlos Malvin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Melquiades Salvatore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melquiades Salvatore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristo Furtado in the 61st minute of play. In the 71st match minute, Black Rose 1979 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Emmanuel to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Pedro Rojelio got a free kick in the 72nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diego Bartolome in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melquiades Salvatore saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. When Anselmo Sarracino fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Anselmo Sarracino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Club Atlético Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Sarracino to maneuver through the defense. When Filiberto Ascencio came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Black Rose 1979 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filiberto Ascencio couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Black Rose 1979 booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Rojelio didn't get a good kick on the ball.
