When Domingos Cordarrell came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Cordarrell couldn't finish the play. Benigno Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Dias in the 33rd minute of the match. Benigno Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Dias in the 35th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Marco Dias in the 35th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Marco Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benigno Abreu was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
