The Hertha 1969 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rune Jarstein should have stopped the shot. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Lordi, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Gerardo Lordi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rune Jarstein. Hertha 1969's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gerardo Lordi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Witomir Pisarczyk in the 33rd minute of play. Wilhelm Nienhaus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Pontus Nordström made a huge save. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andréas Hasselqvist in the 38th minute of play. Pontus Nordström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigel Elenescu in the 39th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerardo Lordi was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Witomir Pisarczyk came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th play minute Witomir Pisarczyk came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rune Jarstein. 0-4. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Lothar Heber charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lothar Heber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ziemowit Tscherner in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pontus Nordström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Hertha 1969 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Santa Margarita were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
