The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fabian Söderström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugó Révész, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Remy Van Eyken took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Claudinho Taffarel to make any attempt to save it. In the 11th minute Hugó Révész shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keszi Athletic's Claudinho Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Keszi Athletic from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Keszi Athletic's Claudinho Taffarel got control of the ball when Remy Van Eyken tried to sneak it across the goal line. Haithabu FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Conrad Vrolijcx in the 16th minute. The corner led to Haithabu FC's Marc Van Beets getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Claudinho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remy Van Eyken in the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Keszi Athletic's goalkeeper Claudinho Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Remy Van Eyken. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugó Révész in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabian Söderström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Keszi Athletic's goalkeeper Claudinho Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Remy Van Eyken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudinho Taffarel having to make a save. Claudinho Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remy Van Eyken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc Van Beets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Taffarel having to interfere. The supporters of Haithabu FC booed when Keszi Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Özkan İlhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Keszi Athletic made a substitution. István Gyurkovics replaced Vaios Vourtzoumis. Özkan İlhan hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Remy Van Eyken to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remy Van Eyken in the 53rd minute of play forced Keszi Athletic's goalkeeper Claudinho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th match minute, Keszi Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Özkan İlhan to maneuver through the defense. Claudinho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrad Vrolijcx in the 57th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Haithabu FC's Remy Van Eyken sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudinho Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 69thth minute of the game Hugó Révész who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haithabu FC's Fabian Söderström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Keszi Athletic's Claudinho Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remy Van Eyken in the 71st minute of play. Claudinho Taffarel came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Haithabu FC's Remy Van Eyken. But to his dismay, Remy Van Eyken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Fabian Söderström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from István Gyurkovics, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rigoberto Piearres took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinho Taffarel. Claudinho Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Haithabu FC made a substitution. Adrian Astigar replaced Simon Blomquist. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Rigoberto Piearres put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Claudinho Taffarel. Fabian Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugó Révész in the 88th minute of play. Claudinho Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigoberto Piearres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gábor Hellinger's late challenge caught a Haithabu FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gábor Hellinger helped the player get up and apologised. If Rigoberto Piearres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudinho Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Piearres in the 95th minute of play. After 96 played minutes Keszi Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Gábor Hellinger. In the 97th minute Rigoberto Piearres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Zsolt Veress in the 99th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Haithabu FC's Gervasio Albonico. After 99 played minutes Keszi Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Gábor Hellinger. Keszi Athletic's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
