After a defensive mix-up in Nagashow SC's zone, Brendon Winstanley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvinho do Vale came out of the goal and Brendon Winstanley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the match, Nagashow SC's goalkeeper Silvinho do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ed Kenworthy. In the 38th minute Felippe Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendon Edworthy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Felippe Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brendon Edworthy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felippe Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Darwen's Brendon Edworthy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Ferreira in the 45th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brendon Winstanley made a kick off. After some careless play in the Nagashow SC defense, Ed Kenworthy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvinho do Vale. The Nagashow SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvinho do Vale should have stopped the shot. After having played for 92 minutes, Ernesto Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nagashow SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Sampaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Sampaio in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brendon Edworthy saved Darwen from getting behind.
