Corinthians Paulista's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Delmar Garikoitz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Inocencio Oidor made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Dieguinho Marinho sent off a good shot on target. Dieguinho Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fábio do Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Inocencio Oidor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inocencio Oidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dieguinho Marinho in the 37th minute of play. Inocencio Oidor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Cristiano Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Lehior in the 42nd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Luciano Souza scored 3-1 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Inocencio Oidor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Delmar Garikoitz came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the alfa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmar Garikoitz couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Dieguinho Marinho made a precise shot to the right of Inocencio Oidor. alfa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dieguinho Marinho in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Inocencio Oidor saved alfa from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Corinthians Paulista's Jardel Pereira got a free kick in the 75th minute. When Leopoldo Gagriel came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the alfa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Gagriel couldn't finish the play. After 82 minutes, Jardel Pereira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians Paulista and the alfa players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 85 minutes, Leopoldo Gagriel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. alfa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Gagriel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
