The audience was convinced that Petro Shenaj's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Augusto de Brito was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 11th match minute, EC Bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio Neto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio de Godoi in the 14th minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Edgar Samuelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, AC Milan's Edgar Samuelsson got control of the ball when Magno Pernambucano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Sabian Vato managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Milan's supporters rose to their feet, but Sabian Vato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Augusto de Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edgar Samuelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vânderson Porto in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 28th minute, EC Bahia's Magno Pernambucano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edgar Samuelsson. Edgar Samuelsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After a rather tough play, EC Bahia's Vânderson Porto got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Petro Shenaj sped through EC Bahia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zé Augusto de Brito. Petro Shenaj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 42 minutes, Egídio Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the EC Bahia and the AC Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes EC Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Neto.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dráuzio de Godoi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Magno Pernambucano in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Samuelsson saved AC Milan from getting behind. If Petro Shenaj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, EC Bahia's Vânderson Porto got a free kick in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, EC Bahia's goalkeeper Zé Augusto de Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petro Shenaj. Petro Shenaj who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Zé Augusto de Brito when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dráuzio de Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Vânderson Porto came free, but Edgar Samuelsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Egídio Neto in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Samuelsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute Egídio Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Samuelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Samuelsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráuzio de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. AC Milan's Petro Shenaj was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 78th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Edgar Samuelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Porto in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute Egídio Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Samuelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Samuelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vânderson Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Orlando Arantes got a free kick in the 85th minute. Petro Shenaj fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto de Brito having to interfere. Petro Shenaj in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zé Augusto de Brito, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Egídio Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Lavdi Eminaj took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zé Augusto de Brito. EC Bahia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The AC Milan players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
