Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Brendon Edworthy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Magno Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Bahia's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Pernambucano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brendon Edworthy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Augusto de Brito stood somewhat misplaced when Ty Turnbull came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 18 minute. When Brendon Winstanley came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Darwen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brendon Winstanley couldn't finish the play. After having played for 23 minutes, Brendon Winstanley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Darwen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brendon Winstanley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Egídio Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, EC Bahia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ty Turnbull fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Darwen fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Darwen's Ty Turnbull looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 35th minute Magno Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendon Edworthy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Darwen getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Rupert Boothroyd hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magno Pernambucano in the 45th minute of play forced Darwen's goalkeeper Brendon Edworthy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of EC Bahia booed when Darwen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Morning didn't get a good kick on the ball. Magno Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brendon Winstanley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brendon Winstanley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Augusto de Brito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Zé Augusto de Brito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ty Turnbull went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Magno Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ty Turnbull received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Zé Augusto de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egídio Neto was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 65 played minutes EC Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Neto. Denzil Connell, 66 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Magno Pernambucano got free with Brendon Edworthy in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ed Kenworthy hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 74 minutes of play, Darwen's Brendon Winstanley made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Augusto de Brito was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Brendon Winstanley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abraham Bartlett kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Bernardinho Couto sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Darwen's Brendon Edworthy didn't even have to move. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Magno Pernambucano took a quick shot and it went in 4-2 without a chance for Brendon Edworthy to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Darwen getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Abraham Bartlett hit a great ball. Brendon Edworthy acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 95th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bernardinho Couto. EC Bahia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
