In the 4th match minute, Juventudes Libertárias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubinho Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind BEST FABIO F.C.'s goalkeeper Olivier Dubs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alisson Becker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fritz Berghmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juventudes Libertárias's Alisson Becker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Juventudes Libertárias from getting a goal against them. Alisson Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Garro in the 12th minute of play. BEST FABIO F.C.'s Olivier Dubs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edson Braddock in the 15th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Gerald Guthrie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Juventudes Libertárias booed when BEST FABIO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerald Guthrie didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, BEST FABIO F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Almeida came free, but Olivier Dubs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olivier Dubs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Braddock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Juventudes Libertárias's Alisson Becker got control of the ball when Rodrigo Garro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Garro got free with Alisson Becker in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Juventudes Libertárias's Edson Braddock got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 39 minutes of play, BEST FABIO F.C.'s Rodrigo Garro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alisson Becker was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilson Meirelles hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute Agostinho Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olivier Dubs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Agostinho Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Juventudes Libertárias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When Dino Baiano fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juventudes Libertárias's protests and gave Dino Baiano a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Juventudes Libertárias eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
