An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho de Carvalho in the 17th minute of play forced BURITIS FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Unai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Unai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. BURITIS FC were furious when Rômulo de Azevedo was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to BURITIS FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Rômulo de Azevedo hit a great ball. Marcel Pinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Unai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Gustavo Unai came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Papunhas EC's Marcel Pinho. But to his dismay, Marcel Pinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Valdemar de Moraes put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Gustavo Unai. If Christian Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Valdemar de Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustavo Unai was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Christian Baiano struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Gustavo Unai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Papunhas EC. Ismael Nazario Serre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gil Paulista in the 41st minute. Bernard Zielinski kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 47 minutes into the game, BURITIS FC's Gil Paulista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ismael Nazario Serre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Gustavo Unai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valdemar de Moraes went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Gil Paulista kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil Paulista in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute of the match, Valdemar de Moraes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gustavo Unai saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 73 minutes into the match, BURITIS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar de Moraes came free, but Gustavo Unai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89thth minute of the game Vito da Mata who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Azmi Enver hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Papunhas EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
