The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Tomás Erasto advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 8th minute. In the 12th match minute, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Christobal to maneuver through the defense. Aguirre Verde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Pellegrini in the 13th minute of play. After 17 minutes DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rigoberto Orixe who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Rigoberto Orixe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aguirre Verde quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 21st minute, Chelco FC's Ciro Pellegrini ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aguirre Verde. Aguirre Verde yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 24th minute Aadil Al Sherazi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saverio Fidele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Pellegrini in the 28th minute of play forced DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's goalkeeper Aguirre Verde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chelco FC were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rigoberto Orixe took the corner. León Argento made a great header on Chelco FC's corner, it was just that DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Aguirre Verde managed to reach the ball for a save. Aguirre Verde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Pellegrini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elberg Gažo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 36 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, one of Chelco FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chelco FC. Saverio Fidele had in the 37thth minute some difficulties stopping Jürgen Fahlgren's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 38th minute DUBAI Palm Jumeirah were awarded a corner. Jürgen Fahlgren went to the cornerflag to take it. Chelco FC's Saverio Fidele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zbyszko Rywin in the 41st minute of play. Rigoberto Orixe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aguirre Verde having to interfere. Chelco FC's Saverio Fidele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jürgen Fahlgren in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jürgen Fahlgren to make the kick off. The supporters of DUBAI Palm Jumeirah booed when Chelco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Pellegrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aadil Al Sherazi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Saverio Fidele came out and tried to block the shot, but Aadil Al Sherazi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute Chelco FC were awarded a corner.
