In a very dangerous position, a player in Galo do Cerrado fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the Galo do Cerrado defense, Christian Vieri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vicente Barbosa. The Galo do Cerrado fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vicente Barbosa should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almantas Plungys in the 18th minute of play forced Green Hell F.C.'s goalkeeper Fernando Prassov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Vieri who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Vicente Barbosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 27 minutes into the match, Green Hell F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Drewitz came free, but Fernando Prassov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Almantas Plungys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Prassov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Prassov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almantas Plungys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Green Hell F.C.'s goalie and right to Evelio Peli. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Green Hell F.C.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 45th match minute, Green Hell F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberigo Balzani to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Almantas Plungys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Prassov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beto dos Santos made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto dos Santos in the 52nd minute of play forced Green Hell F.C.'s goalkeeper Fernando Prassov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute of the game Pedrinho da Silva made a throw-in which Severino Novaes played forward. Fernando Prassov made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Almantas Plungys sent off a good shot on target. Radomil Ogrodowicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Barbosa having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Sebastian Drewitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galo do Cerrado's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Drewitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Prassov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Prassov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Peli in the 82nd minute of play. Evelio Peli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Fernando Prassov made a huge save. The supporters of Galo do Cerrado booed when Green Hell F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sándor Fenyvessy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Galo do Cerrado's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Galo do Cerrado may have spent more time on the ball, but Green Hell F.C. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
