Tim Johnstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matteo Gillis in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th minute Goo Goo Dolls were awarded a corner. Olimpiu Dragnea went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Olimpiu Dragnea got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tim Johnstone quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Tigers's Tim Johnstone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Dragnea in the 6th minute of play. The Tigers's Tim Johnstone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save The Tigers from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Olimpiu Dragnea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tim Johnstone. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olimpiu Dragnea in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim Johnstone saved The Tigers from getting behind. With a little luck, The Tigers's Tim Johnstone got control of the ball when Olimpiu Dragnea tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinnie Backhouse in the 20th minute of play forced Goo Goo Dolls's goalkeeper Benjamin Cuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Tim Johnstone managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Goo Goo Dolls's Olimpiu Dragnea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rogelio Rogalnikov kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Tim Johnstone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Dragnea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tim Johnstone made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Olimpiu Dragnea sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Olimpiu Dragnea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tim Johnstone was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Goo Goo Dolls's Benjamin Cuss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sid Francis in the 31st minute of play. In the 43rd match minute, Goo Goo Dolls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny Anson to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Carl Downes made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, The Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Dragnea came free, but Tim Johnstone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matteo Gillis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tim Johnstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dom Rusby in the 57th minute of the match. After 60 minutes The Tigers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Olimpiu Dragnea who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of The Tigers's goalie and right to Brian Hughes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. The Tigers's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Tim Johnstone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Dragnea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olimpiu Dragnea hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Goo Goo Dolls's goal looked a bit too open when Vinnie Backhouse came free, but Benjamin Cuss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matteo Gillis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tim Johnstone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Olimpiu Dragnea made a precise shot to the right of Tim Johnstone. The Tigers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Tim Johnstone came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Goo Goo Dolls's Dom Rusby. But to his dismay, Dom Rusby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The supporters of Goo Goo Dolls booed when The Tigers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tris Hedges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olimpiu Dragnea, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Goo Goo Dolls fully deserved thier win.
