In the 14th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisinho Seco to maneuver through the defense. Umberto Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Anísio Alagoano hit a great ball. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Juan Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Dionísio in the 22nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Pedrinho Guimarães threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benjamim Vargas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Juan Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Dionísio in the 24th minute of play. After some careless play in the Nova Erechim - FSCMZ defense, Anísio Alagoano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Azevedo. The Nova Erechim - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Azevedo should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

With a left leg Juan Azevedo saved Nova Erechim - FSCMZ from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's zone, Anísio Alagoano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Azevedo came out of the goal and Anísio Alagoano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Anísio Alagoano took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Juan Azevedo to make any attempt to save it. Anísio Alagoano's shot from long distance in the 72nd minute was not bad at all, but Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Juan Azevedo knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Juan Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Erechim - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Umberto Dionísio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Juan Azevedo. The goal made the score 0-5. 84 minutes into the match, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio Alagoano came free, but Juan Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benedito Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Azevedo having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Luisinho Seco could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Juan Azevedo however easily saved by the left post. Juan Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Castanheiro SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
