The referee ignored BRASIL.Sp's protests and gave Zeca Rosado a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by Zeca Rosado. Umberto Dionísio did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Amílton Urbano 5 minutes into the match. In the 12th play minute Umberto Dionísio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Amílton Urbano. 2-0. Amílton Urbano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luisinho Seco in the 21st minute. Horácio Ferraz's late challenge caught a Castanheiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horácio Ferraz helped the player get up and apologised. Luisinho Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Amílton Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. BRASIL.Sp's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Benedito Mineiro scored to the left of an out of position Amílton Urbano, making the score, 5-0. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when BRASIL.Sp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeca Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anísio Alagoano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Amílton Urbano firmly grabbed it by the left post. 44 minutes into the game, Anísio Alagoano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Amílton Urbano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amílton Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Umberto Dionísio in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

The Castanheiro SC fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Castanheiro SC's Umberto Dionísio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Nilson Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in BRASIL.Sp's zone, Anísio Alagoano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Urbano came out of the goal and Anísio Alagoano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A sloppy throw-in by Luisinho Seco in the 61st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by BRASIL.Sp's Luciano Tinoco. The audience was convinced that Umberto Dionísio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amílton Urbano was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 67th minute Umberto Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 minutes, José Vítor Marinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BRASIL.Sp and the Castanheiro SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, José Vítor Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedito Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 71st minute.
