The supporters of Sporting Buceo booed when Cosmos Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Weldon Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th match minute, Cosmos Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claude Tuttle to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the game, Rios Retana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting Buceo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cosmos Soccer Club the free kick. Rios Retana kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Miguel Beltre charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Beltre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Cosmos Soccer Club's Franklin Willingham dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When Sidoro Romeu fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Buceo's protests and gave Sidoro Romeu a yellow card for diving instead. 32 minutes into the game, Cyrus Crouch recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lucas Cepa. Cyrus Crouch showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Lucas Cepa made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Cyrus Crouch sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute, Erroman Delgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, Sporting Buceo's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Willingham came free, but Lucas Cepa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Sidoro Romeu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruce Nesbitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cosmos Soccer Club's Marcus Maher got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cyrus Crouch was the one to do the kick off. Cosmos Soccer Club's Bruce Nesbitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Donallo in the 56th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Laffitte Rioz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rios Retana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Bruce Nesbitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cosmos Soccer Club's Bruce Nesbitt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Cosmos Soccer Club from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laureano Donallo in the 85th minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Bruce Nesbitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Sporting Buceo defense, Cyrus Crouch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucas Cepa. The Sporting Buceo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucas Cepa should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute, Gerard Reed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cosmos Soccer Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
