After a rather tough play, Cosmos Soccer Club's Monte Leary got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Marcelo Barovero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilford Shipp's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. When Iván Leguizamón came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Maravilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iván Leguizamón couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Iván Leguizamón's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruce Nesbitt was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Wilford Shipp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Barovero having to make a save. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruce Nesbitt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tobias Banegas made a great header on Maravilla's corner, it was just that Cosmos Soccer Club's Bruce Nesbitt managed to reach the ball for a save. Iván Leguizamón did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Bruce Nesbitt 22 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Maravilla's Iván Leguizamón sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruce Nesbitt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maravilla were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Cosmos Soccer Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tobias Banegas took the corner. The corner led to Maravilla's Paulo Arnau getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Iván Leguizamón sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iván Leguizamón to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Iván Leguizamón came free, but Bruce Nesbitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cosmos Soccer Club booed when Maravilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iván Leguizamón didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iván Leguizamón in the 62nd minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Bruce Nesbitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Maravilla's Paulo Arnau got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Maravilla's Marcelo Barovero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dante Paquette in the 81st minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match, Russ Thorne tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcelo Barovero saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Iván Leguizamón's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruce Nesbitt was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. When the referee blew the final whistle, Maravilla could leave the field as winners, despite Cosmos Soccer Club having more of the ball for most of the match.
