With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tristan Falco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Pildesti's zone, Sami Zübeyr stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Văduvescu came out of the goal and Sami Zübeyr tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 94 minutes FC Steaua Pildesti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anatoly Karpov who took care of the corner kick. FC Maci -MM-'s Anatoly Karpov was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marian Văduvescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see FC Steaua Pildesti lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
