Damian Macovei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zygmunt Dunajski, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute FC Steaua Pildesti were awarded a corner. Terry Doyle went to the cornerflag to take it. Constantin Deșliu made a great header on FC Steaua Pildesti's corner, it was just that -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Damian Macovei managed to reach the ball for a save. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Damian Macovei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save -BZF- Valea Buzăului from getting a goal against them. After 46 minutes of play, FC Steaua Pildesti's Nicolae Barbu made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Damian Macovei was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zygmunt Dunajski made a kick off. In the 54th minute Filip Paulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Macovei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zygmunt Dunajski shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 62 minutes into the game, FC Steaua Pildesti's Nicolae Barbu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Macovei made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. FC Steaua Pildesti were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after -BZF- Valea Buzăului's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Terry Doyle took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Zygmunt Dunajski got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 6-0. 68 minutes into the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Rui Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zygmunt Dunajski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filip Paulescu struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Damian Macovei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Steaua Pildesti. In the 81st minute, Nicolae Barbu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damian Macovei was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. After some careless play in the -BZF- Valea Buzăului defense, Zygmunt Dunajski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damian Macovei. The -BZF- Valea Buzăului fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damian Macovei should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolae Barbu in the 94th minute of play forced -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper Damian Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Codruț Molodețiu during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to -BZF- Valea Buzăului getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Codruț Molodețiu hit a great ball. Rui Costa hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that FC Steaua Pildesti were the better team. FC Steaua Pildesti's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
