Ninjas in Pyjamas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rareș Tatulici in the 8th minute. Manuel Isăilă might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marian Văduvescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Isăilă ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Isăilă in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute Manuel Isăilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Văduvescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Isăilă in the 20th minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ninjas in Pyjamas's Manuel Isăilă in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Steaua Pildesti's goalie prevented a goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cai Yue Guang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute FC Steaua Pildesti were awarded a corner. Terry Doyle went to the cornerflag to take it. FC Steaua Pildesti's Terry Doyle was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cai Yue Guang in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Ninjas in Pyjamas's Cai Yue Guang got control of the ball when Zygmunt Dunajski tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandru Negreanu in the 41st minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes in the game Cristian Fința did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Filip Paulescu. When Manuel Isăilă came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ninjas in Pyjamas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Isăilă couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Isăilă to make the kick off. Marian Văduvescu was a little too slow when Manuel Isăilă got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 50th minute. The score was now 0-1. Ninjas in Pyjamas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rareș Tatulici in the 56th minute. Cai Yue Guang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Stere in the 66th minute of the match. Marian Văduvescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Isăilă's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Ninjas in Pyjamas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rareș Tatulici in the 71st minute. The corner led Ninjas in Pyjamas's Hector Morientes to fire away a dangerous shot which Marian Văduvescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 73rd minute Manuel Isăilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Văduvescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Steaua Pildesti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rareș Tatulici ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ninjas in Pyjamas's corner Rareș Tatulici fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marian Văduvescu quite easily take care of the ball. The FC Steaua Pildesti fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when FC Steaua Pildesti's Lucian Stere looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Pildesti's zone, Manuel Isăilă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Văduvescu came out of the goal and Manuel Isăilă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 90 minutes of play, Ninjas in Pyjamas's Manuel Isăilă made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marian Văduvescu was left in no man's land by his defense there!
