Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filip Paulescu in the 16th minute of the match. FC Steaua Pildesti were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Academia Rio's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zygmunt Dunajski took the corner. Gigel Tilea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolae Barbu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Steaua Pildesti's Lucian Stere got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Zygmunt Dunajski came free, but Gigel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorel Nedelciu to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marian Văduvescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nae Griguță made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Constantin Deșliu. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Constantin Deșliu took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Gigel Tilea to make any attempt to save it. Marian Văduvescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorel Nedelciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 90 minutes into the game, Nae Griguță threw the ball into play from the sideline. Academia Rio's Lucian Petriceanu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Gigel Tilea was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Lucian Stere capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lucian Stere really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. FC Steaua Pildesti's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
