With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paradorn Todor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the match, Internacional's goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jimeno Feliz. Barça Salvadoreño FC were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Internacional's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fatbardh Malko took the corner. After taking down the ball on Barça Salvadoreño FC's corner Fatbardh Malko fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Geronimo Rulli quite easily take care of the ball. The audience cheered loudly when Fatbardh Malko's long shot in the 13th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Geronimo Rulli. 16 minutes into the match, Laércio de Andrade notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Barça Salvadoreño FC's Paradorn Todor. Paradorn Todor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 21 minutes of play, Internacional's Laércio de Andrade made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jimeno Feliz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Geronimo Rulli made a huge save. Maggi Gonzáles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Geronimo Rulli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Barça Salvadoreño FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
