After a rather tough play, Deportivo Empate's Janich Chayawi got a free kick in the 9th minute. When Laércio de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Internacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio de Andrade couldn't finish the play. Nickolai Skivild kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Ariel Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristoffer Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ariel Vidal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristoffer Martinsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Internacional had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
