The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Conrado Otoniel got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Galip Öveç made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anfilogino Sasso in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute Leonides Amaya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geronimo Isauro in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josué Macedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Through an outstanding action, after 15 minutes, Galip Öveç successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Josué Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Isauro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panait Stolniciu came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Galip Öveç could save by the left post. Galip Öveç made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Jacob Madruga sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Hagi in the 33rd minute of play forced Rincón de los Sauces AFC's goalkeeper Galip Öveç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC SOLOTHURN booed when Rincón de los Sauces AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgardo Martxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Panait Stolniciu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC SOLOTHURN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Panait Stolniciu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geronimo Isauro made a kick off. Leonides Amaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Macedo having to interfere. Josué Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Amaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. If Geronimo Isauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geronimo Isauro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Josué Macedo made a huge save. The long shot by Edgardo Martxel in the 60th minute really tested Josué Macedo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. FC SOLOTHURN's Josué Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Isauro in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the game, Anfilogino Sasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Galip Öveç was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC SOLOTHURN's Josué Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Amaya in the 66th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Anfilogino Sasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Galip Öveç was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in FC SOLOTHURN's zone, Geronimo Isauro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué Macedo came out of the goal and Geronimo Isauro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the game, Panait Stolniciu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Galip Öveç was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of FC SOLOTHURN booed when Rincón de los Sauces AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timoteo Bladi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panait Stolniciu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 87 minutes, Conrado Otoniel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rincón de los Sauces AFC and the FC SOLOTHURN players grew even worse after the yellow card. Conrado Otoniel kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After 91 played minutes FC SOLOTHURN got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Massa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Isauro in the 94th minute of play forced FC SOLOTHURN's goalkeeper Josué Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
