But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jailson Capixaba couldn't finish the play. The San Lorenzo 11 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. José Vítor Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Bucciarelli in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, San Lorenzo 11 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Bucciarelli to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Benito Camela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Vítor Netto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Leonides Etxekopar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-5 became the score in the 36th minute when Benito Camela elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZRJ's goal looked a bit too open when Hudson Abreu came free, but José Vítor Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Camela took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Vítor Netto. José Vítor Netto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. José Vítor Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Camela in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Benito Camela made the kick off in the second half. Marco Torres in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of José Vítor Netto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a little luck, Botafogo MZRJ's José Vítor Netto got control of the ball when Marco Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute, Antônio Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Botafogo MZRJ's Gilmar Couto was substituted for Jailson Capixaba. Antônio Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, San Lorenzo 11's Martin Betadur tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The corner led San Lorenzo 11's Martin Betadur to fire away a dangerous shot which José Vítor Netto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Benito Camela in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
