He walked away shaking his head. Leonides Amaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nistor Zdrobiş having to interfere. With a little luck, Rincón de los Sauces AFC's Galip Öveç got control of the ball when Bernt Van den Dries tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Alfonso Ugarte's Bernt Van den Dries dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernt Van den Dries during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Son Son to strike the kick off in the second half. Galip Öveç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reno Ronquillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Carlo Santa María kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Galip Öveç made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reno Ronquillo in the 62nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Alfonso Ugarte's zone, Son Son stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nistor Zdrobiş came out of the goal and Son Son tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Rincón de los Sauces AFC booed when Alfonso Ugarte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renaldo Argüelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th match minute, Rincón de los Sauces AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgardo Martxel to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Leonel Sallas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonides Amaya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Nistor Zdrobiş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reno Ronquillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. When the match was over Rincón de los Sauces AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Alfonso Ugarte throughout the match.
