In the 6th match minute, FC SOLOTHURN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gheorghe Hagi to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Botafogo MZRJ getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Léo Baptista hit a great ball. Anfilogino Sasso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of José Vítor Netto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Capixaba in the 15th minute of play forced FC SOLOTHURN's goalkeeper Josué Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Anfilogino Sasso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Vítor Netto. Botafogo MZRJ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anfilogino Sasso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0.
