Jailson Capixaba started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Botafogo MZRJ booed when Green Squad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulisses Antunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but José Vítor Netto made a huge save. José Vítor Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Maia in the 7th minute of the match. In the 15th minute of the match, Conrado Pernambucano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José Vítor Netto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The corner led Green Squad FC's Conrado Pernambucano to fire away a dangerous shot which José Vítor Netto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jailson Capixaba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Botafogo MZRJ's goalkeeper José Vítor Netto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Vítor Netto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jessie Pinkman in the 25th minute. The supporters of Green Squad FC booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Gonçalo Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Green Squad FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Maia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jessie Pinkman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tadeu Cosme struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. José Vítor Netto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Squad FC. José Vítor Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Jailson Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. José Vítor Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jessie Pinkman made a kick off. Renato Messias got a throw-in 55 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Jessie Pinkman. 60 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jailson Capixaba. In the 61st match minute, Botafogo MZRJ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jailson Capixaba to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute Tadeu Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Vítor Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Cosme in the 67th minute of play forced Botafogo MZRJ's goalkeeper José Vítor Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Furlan hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After having played for 76 minutes, Serginho Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
