The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Patrick Eliasson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Izydor Klawke. 16 minutes into the match, Los once leones's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Mathy came free, but Dadá Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Los once leones's Dadá Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Ove Söderström in the 18th minute of play. Anibal Chayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Los once leones fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 44 played minutes Gnesta Oilers got a freekick which was hit by Torbjörn Alin. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Anibal Chayo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los once leones's supporters rose to their feet, but Anibal Chayo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick Eliasson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Izydor Klawke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Ove Söderström in the 61st minute of play forced Los once leones's goalkeeper Dadá Martinez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Gnesta Oilers getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Claes Thidén hit a great ball. In the 71st minute, Alfred Liljeström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 71 played minutes, Los once leones's Cleto Txerran shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Patrick Eliasson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Los once leones reached it. Dadá Martinez made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Dave Mathy sent off a good shot on target. Los once leones's Dadá Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Los once leones from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Los once leones's Dadá Martinez got control of the ball when Dave Mathy tried to sneak it across the goal line. John Dahlquist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Dadá Martinez made a huge save. Los once leones's Dadá Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Mathy in the 84th minute of play. The supporters of Gnesta Oilers booed when Los once leones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Ireno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl-Ove Söderström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Los once leones's Dadá Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Mathy in the 91st minute of play. Dadá Martinez came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Gnesta Oilers's Dave Mathy. But to his dismay, Dave Mathy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The Gnesta Oilers players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Los once leones from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
