Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oleg Nagirnyak in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lyonel Fossati prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's Oleg Nagirnyak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Forel SC booed when Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasyl Yarovyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oleg Nagirnyak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lyonel Fossati having to interfere. The supporters of Forel SC booed when Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasyl Yarovyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Lionel Rinert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Oleg Nagirnyak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lyonel Fossati was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Giorgio Dutzler's late challenge caught a Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giorgio Dutzler helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Forel SC got a freekick which was hit by Giorgio Dutzler. Lyonel Fossati took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduard Yefymenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the game, Virgil Freud was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Forel SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar the free kick. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Forel SC! The referee gave Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Yaroslav Gibalyuk, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Forel SC's Lyonel Fossati. 0-3. Vasyl Levyga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lionel Rinert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the match, Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Wildhaber came free, but Vasyl Levyga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vasyl Levyga came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Forel SC's Kai Striner. But to his dismay, Kai Striner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's Vasyl Levyga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kai Striner in the 58th minute of play. Oleg Nagirnyak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lyonel Fossati read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Lyonel Fossati made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oleg Nagirnyak in the 65th minute of play. In the 70thth minute of the game Oleg Nagirnyak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Forel SC's Lyonel Fossati was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Francisco Wildhaber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lyonel Fossati was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rodion Cherednychenko. Lyonel Fossati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oleg Nagirnyak, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 94th minute, Platon Zakharchenko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute Leopoldo Muench shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasyl Levyga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
