Metod Mlynar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Constantino Angeloni having to make a save. 21 minutes into the game, Vavrinec Koleno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Slovakia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulo Diaz y 10 mas the free kick. After a rather tough play, Slovakia's Vavrinec Koleno got a free kick in the 21st minute. Ramón Fridman in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henrich Slany, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 29 minutes, Pavol Koleno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Slovakia and the Paulo Diaz y 10 mas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pavol Koleno kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Slovakia's zone, Ramón Fridman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrich Slany came out of the goal and Ramón Fridman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Constantino Angeloni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Holub, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Henrich Slany successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oliver Holub during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th minute, Oliver Holub hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oliver Holub recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Slovakia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Metod Mlynar to make the kick off. Carlos Gustavo Claude sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Henrich Slany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Fridman in the 53rd minute of the match. Oliver Holub fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Angeloni having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Paulo Diaz y 10 mas got a freekick which was hit by Frances Doursther. When Metod Mlynar came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Slovakia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Metod Mlynar couldn't finish the play. Constantino Angeloni made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Metod Mlynar sent off a good shot on target. Apolo Véjar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Apolo Véjar might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrich Slany. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Apolo Véjar ran back to his position shaking his head. 83 minutes into the game, Quim Mahotiere was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paulo Diaz y 10 mas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Slovakia the free kick. Quim Mahotiere kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Metod Mlynar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Constantino Angeloni having to make a save. If Metod Mlynar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Henrich Slany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Véjar in the 96th minute of the match. Slovakia were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Paulo Diaz y 10 mas's much stronger midfield.
