The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Güray Altunışık had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trần Minh Phượng. Cipriano Virila was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes into the match, Lucas Beltran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trần Minh Phượng. Güray Altunışık received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Trần Minh Phượng came out and tried to block the shot, but Güray Altunışık slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adán Ecija to make the kick off. Trần Minh Phượng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Güray Altunışık in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of FC Nacional booed when Hanoi United Fg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Ho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Güray Altunışık notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Hanoi United Fg's Trần Minh Phượng. After a rather tough play, Hanoi United Fg's Adán Ecija got a free kick in the 71st minute. Trần Minh Phượng didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucas Beltran went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Trần Minh Phượng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scott Garcia in the 75th minute of the match. Ngô Cong Vinh hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. When FC Nacional's Fernando Beila in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hanoi United Fg's goalie prevented a goal. 85 minutes into the match, Hanoi United Fg's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Beltran came free, but Trần Minh Phượng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adán Ecija recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, Güray Altunışık made a precise shot to the right of Trần Minh Phượng. Hanoi United Fg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. After 96 played minutes Hanoi United Fg got a freekick which was hit by Darren Clayton. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Nacional had played much better football throughout.
