Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rafael Sobis took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Sobis in the 3rd minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bandelocos booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeca de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Daniel Brasil took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ronaldo Medeiros to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Matorin in the 12th minute of play forced Bandelocos's goalkeeper Nilson do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bandelocos's Daniel Brasil got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Bandelocos getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Betão Quirino hit a great ball. If Bray McJon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Brasil. In the 30th minute, Fernandão Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Bray McJon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 38 minutes Bandelocos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wilson Fernandez who took care of the corner kick. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laerte Lucas made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Montevideo's Nilson do Vale threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Olavo Matorin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 55th minute Bray McJon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldo Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Sobis in the 61st minute of play. When Laerte Lucas came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Montevideo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laerte Lucas couldn't finish the play. Fernandão Recife struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Nilson do Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montevideo. Nilson do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavo Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Laerte Lucas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Nilson do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Montevideo were awarded a corner. Wilson Fernandez went to the cornerflag to take it. Montevideo's Wilson Fernandez was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nilson do Vale in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 89th minute, Henry Tormes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Lucas got free with Nilson do Vale in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's Olavo Matorin got a free kick in the 92nd minute. If Laerte Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Montevideo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
