The referee ignored Montevideo's protests and gave Christian Barreto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Christian Barreto hit a great ball. S.C.CHUÍ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luis León in the 39th minute. Ronaldo Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joris Scheer in the 43rd minute. S.C.CHUÍ's Armando Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Matorin in the 45th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joris Scheer made a kick off. S.C.CHUÍ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joris Scheer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
