The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdir Cavalcante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the game, one of Grêmio 20 Julho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Flores da Cunha - RS's Damian Brzakala got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sylwester Zarobski. Grêmio 20 Julho were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Flores da Cunha - RS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Franklin Galvão took the corner. When the final whistle sounded Flores da Cunha - RS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Grêmio 20 Julho.
