Kenya's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Mohamed was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurel Crivoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Romania's Stelian Murgu got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Mohamed in the 22nd minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Aurel Crivoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Haroun Korir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurel Crivoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute of the match, Stefan Dobay tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tony Githinji Muhoho saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 36th minute of the match Romania got a corner. Kenya's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Isac Zub ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Remus Pincharoen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tony Githinji Muhoho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 39 minutes into the match, Kenya's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Dobay came free, but Tony Githinji Muhoho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroun Korir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurel Crivoi having to interfere. Tony Githinji Muhoho made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Stefan Dobay sent off a good shot on target.

Stelian Murgu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute Stefan Dobay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Githinji Muhoho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Githinji Muhoho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefan Dobay's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horea Boian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raymond Osoro hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Dennis Komen made in the 74th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Romania's Mihnea Stanca. 78 minutes into the match, Romania's goalkeeper Aurel Crivoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haroun Korir. Tony Githinji Muhoho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Murgu in the 80th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Stelian Murgu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tony Githinji Muhoho. Kenya's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stelian Murgu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Haji Mwaura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Dobay in the 90th minute of play forced Kenya's goalkeeper Tony Githinji Muhoho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Haroun Korir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
