Ilija Skugor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Uğur Akdurmuş might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ilija Skugor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Uğur Akdurmuş ran back to his position shaking his head. Silvije Santek kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Víctor López recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Croatia's Ilija Skugor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uğur Akdurmuş in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute The Conqueror were awarded a corner. Víctor López went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 30th minute of the match, Evaristo Ponte got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ilija Skugor was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ilija Skugor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Uğur Akdurmuş's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Evaristo Ponte scored 3-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilija Skugor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in The Conqueror's zone, Toni Mauzer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uğur Akdurmuş couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evaristo Ponte to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Uğur Akdurmuş's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ilija Skugor was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Evaristo Ponte sped through Croatia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ilija Skugor. Celal Erçetin scored 6-0 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilija Skugor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evaristo Ponte in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ilija Skugor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Kutsi Gençyaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. The Conqueror's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
