With an all-out effort, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ahmad Reza Asadi threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Podador Raheiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 12th match minute, Club Deportes Santa Cruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvio Navia to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Zhi Chuan in the 14th minute of play forced Santos Campineiro's goalkeeper Ahmad Reza Asadi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvio Navia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Ahmad Reza Asadi made a huge save. In the 17th minute, Raimundo Tupper made a precise shot to the right of Ahmad Reza Asadi. Santos Campineiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Podador Raheiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ahmad Reza Asadi firmly grabbed it by the left post. Raimundo Tupper received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ahmad Reza Asadi came out and tried to block the shot, but Raimundo Tupper slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. 29 minutes into the game, Yan Zhi Chuan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ahmad Reza Asadi. Yan Zhi Chuan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Ahmad Reza Asadi made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Podador Raheiro sent off a good shot on target. Raimundo Tupper could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Ahmad Reza Asadi made a huge save. 34 minutes into the match, Santos Campineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Yan Zhi Chuan came free, but Ahmad Reza Asadi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Raimundo Tupper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Marcus Edström was substituted for Raimundo Tupper. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Trayko Gradinarski was substituted for Podador Raheiro. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Falcão Fontes was the one to do the kick off. Falcão Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcus Edström in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmad Reza Asadi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute Trayko Gradinarski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmad Reza Asadi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Yan Zhi Chuan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0.
