Miromir Zdeb started the match with the kick off. Czarni 44 Szczecin's Dariusz Marczyniec got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dariusz Marczyniec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Auer having to interfere. Rafal Adamczak kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After having played for 10 minutes, Sandro Galishoff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Austria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Galishoff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sylwester Giejda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Galishoff in the 15th minute of the match. Szczepan Radziszewski made in the 19th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Zula Marosz immediately put the ball in play. Dariusz Marczyniec's late challenge caught a Austria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dariusz Marczyniec helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Austria booed when Czarni 44 Szczecin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dariusz Marczyniec didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fabio Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute Fabio Schneider shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sylwester Giejda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A collision led to Austria getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Marvin Harrer hit a great ball. In the 67th match minute, Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Schneider to maneuver through the defense. Austria's Fabio Auer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miromir Zdeb in the 68th minute of play. Nico Waismann made in the 71st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Czarni 44 Szczecin's Iwo Falkiewicz. Fabio Schneider sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabio Auer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miromir Zdeb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Austria's zone, Miromir Zdeb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Auer came out of the goal and Miromir Zdeb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
