Match Report

BOGDY STADIUM
Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0)
Bogdy's Uriel Ramiréz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Zimmerman in the 5th minute of play. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Cipriano Campomanes sent off a good shot on target. When Oto Marcos fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bogdy's protests and gave Oto Marcos a yellow card for diving instead. Oto Marcos hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Cvijetin Nanusevski hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the game, Borjan Golubovic was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Serbia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bogdy the free kick. Serbia's Momir Gisic quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Toni Cifuentes, made in the 18th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Bogdy's zone, Sreten Popovic stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elpidio Silvanito came out of the goal and Sreten Popovic tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Curcio Soto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Bogdy's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Patrick Zimmerman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sreten Popovic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Curcio Soto in the 30th minute of play. The throw-in from Jorge Quijana in the 35th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Serbia's Borjan Golubovic. 38 minutes into the game, Zivko Cvetkovic was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Serbia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bogdy the free kick. Zivko Cvetkovic hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bogdy's Israel Candamil. But to his dismay, Israel Candamil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Uriel Ramiréz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bogdy's supporters rose to their feet, but Uriel Ramiréz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute Israel Candamil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sreten Popovic was the one to do the kick off. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Zimmerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Ramiréz came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Curcio Soto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Serbia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Curcio Soto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Campomanes in the 58th minute of play. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Patrick Zimmerman sped through Serbia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. An unexpectedly hard shot by Curcio Soto in the 63rd minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Patrick Zimmerman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 68 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Israel Candamil came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Curcio Soto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bogdy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. After some careless play in the Serbia defense, Patrick Zimmerman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. The Serbia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zvezdan Nedeljkovic should have stopped the shot. 81 minutes into the match, Patrick Zimmerman notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 85 minutes, Uriel Ramiréz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bogdy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uriel Ramiréz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute, Patrick Zimmerman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bogdy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Campomanes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Zimmerman took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Zimmerman in the 96th minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bogdy walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
