With an all-out effort, Club Getafe Deportivo's Lázaro Colon threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rafael Navarro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jairo Castellano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Isias, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Curcio Carballeira got free with Lázaro Colon in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th match minute, Juniors FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Marino to maneuver through the defense. Club Getafe Deportivo were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Juniors FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Orlo Sarrate took the corner. Club Getafe Deportivo's Henrico Del Bosque was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lázaro Colon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Henrico Del Bosque took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lázaro Colon. Lázaro Colon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lázaro Colon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Navarro, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Club Getafe Deportivo's Curcio Carballeira got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Curcio Carballeira took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lázaro Colon. Lázaro Colon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Curcio Carballeira to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute Rafael Navarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Colon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Colon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Navarro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Curcio Carballeira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lázaro Colon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. The corner led Club Getafe Deportivo's Orlo Sarrate to fire away a dangerous shot which Lázaro Colon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Víctor Feal kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Uriel Isias got free with Jairo Castellano in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jairo Castellano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uriel Isias in the 68th minute of the match. Juniors FC's Severino Garikoitz was substituted for Nicanor Porfirio. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Getafe Deportivo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wlodzimierz Lepper was slow to take the kick. During this time Juniors FC's players had a chance to rest. Jairo Castellano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Frasco in the 73rd minute. Enrique Frasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Castellano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. With a little luck, Club Getafe Deportivo's Jairo Castellano got control of the ball when Enrique Frasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Getafe Deportivo made a substitution. Xabat Dobale replaced Laurgain Lama. Juniors FC's attentive Wlodzimierz Lepper managed to snatch the ball when Víctor Feal made a throw-in in the 79th minute of the game. Club Getafe Deportivo's Jairo Castellano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Club Getafe Deportivo from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vlad Ţăranu in the 88th minute of play forced Juniors FC's goalkeeper Lázaro Colon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute, Enrique Frasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matias Panpili made in the 95th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Enrique Frasco however managed to control. After 98 minutes Juniors FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Orlo Sarrate who took care of the corner kick. Orlo Sarrate made a great header on Club Getafe Deportivo's corner, it was just that Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Getafe Deportivo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Juniors FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
