The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eustaquio Jaizki hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 4 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Artaldo. With his leg Pankracy Glogowski managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 10 minutes of play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Eustaquio Jaizki made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mikolaj Jerzyk was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pankracy Malicki's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pankracy Glogowski firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thomas Vollmar in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Pankracy Malicki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the game, Paolo Caradaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newcastle United the free kick. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 20th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Pacholewski in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Newcastle United getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Olgierd Wojtowicz hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's Emil Chwalkiewicz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 78th minute Adam Pacholewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Şevket Çağa lined in a short shot 3-2 behind a frustrated Mikolaj Jerzyk. Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabio Artaldo hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Rosendo Cutberto was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. Zé Paulo Zonta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pankracy Glogowski. Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Newcastle United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
