Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Sunnyvale FC's Francesco Di Lillo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Francesco Di Lillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute of the match Arturo Grimm sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keld Paulsen skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Grimm in the 9th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Francesco Di Lillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sunnyvale FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Bertram Svenningsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Bertram Svenningsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Mathias Ludvigsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickey McLain in the 24th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sunnyvale FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rickey McLain in the 25th minute. Sunnyvale FC's Rickey McLain was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Keld Paulsen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute, Theis Winther hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denmark's Mikkel Wulff quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fernan Gomesano, made in the 32nd minute of the game. Melchor Elija showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 33rd minute of the match. A collision led to Sunnyvale FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Lamont Baron hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rickey McLain. Melchor Elija took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikkel Wulff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 44 played minutes Sunnyvale FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Iacob. In the 47th match minute, Sunnyvale FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francesco Di Lillo to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chris Nygaard to make the kick off. Francesco Di Lillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keld Paulsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Denmark's zone, Fernan Gomesano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal and Fernan Gomesano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute Francesco Di Lillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Francesco Di Lillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keld Paulsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Kenn Skou hit a great ball. Chris Nygaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Cristian Iacob came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Sunnyvale FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Iacob couldn't finish the play. When Beau Mayo fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sunnyvale FC's protests and gave Beau Mayo a yellow card for diving instead. Melchor Elija came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen. But to his dismay, Bertram Svenningsen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After 88 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Lars Steen. In the 89th minute, Loic Toth ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keld Paulsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 95th minute, Cristian Iacob hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sunnyvale FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Denmark for a fine match.
