The FC Alinborger fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tadeu Moraes should have stopped the shot. 10 minutes into the game, Angel Veronica was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Alinborger's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rot-Weiss-Essen the free kick. After 10 played minutes FC Alinborger got a freekick which was hit by Angel Veronica. In the 13th minute Maximilian Henning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeu Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Mesut Özil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tadeu Moraes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Tadeu Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Tadeu Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mesut Özil in the 25th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Mesut Özil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Tadeu Moraes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tadeu Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Haupt, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Tadeu Moraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anestis Kotsopoulos's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Angel Veronica's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hoffmanns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Mesut Özil notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of FC Alinborger's Tadeu Moraes. Tadeu Moraes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 42nd minute Sebastian Bîlbă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Bîlbă in the 42nd minute of play. If Hugo Haupt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Felix Balzer hit a great ball. After the first half Rot-Weiss-Essen were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Bîlbă was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Haupt got free with Tadeu Moraes in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anestis Kotsopoulos hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. August Hoffmanns stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angel Veronica's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. Anestis Kotsopoulos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Tadeu Moraes made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in FC Alinborger's zone, Maximilian Henning stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeu Moraes came out of the goal and Maximilian Henning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tadeu Moraes saved FC Alinborger from getting behind. FC Alinborger's Tadeu Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mesut Özil in the 71st minute of play. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Veronica in the 73rd minute of play.
