Palestra do Interior's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mats Bentsen ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Mieszko Pilsudski advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-0 in the 60th minute. Palestra do Interior's Eugênio Alagoano was substituted for Moisés Matorin. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Vitório Lago replaced Paulo Godoi. Daustad's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
