An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Austin in the 6th minute of play forced MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Zézinho Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Pecém's Xie Shu Tian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zézinho Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zézinho Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xie Shu Tian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, MarquinhosEC's Denílson Leão threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Curt Montes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pecém were furious when Cristiano Andrade was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pecém fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Denílson Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florin Susara in the 21st minute. Curt Montes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Denílson Leão made a huge save. 31 minutes into the match, Pecém's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Freitas came free, but Denílson Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florin Susara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Denílson Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xie Shu Tian to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Michael Meertens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute MarquinhosEC were awarded a corner. Florin Susara went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 56th minute of the match, Xie Shu Tian tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zézinho Simões saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Denílson Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Curt Montes, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute Juarês Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute of the match, Ibon Obeso got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zézinho Simões was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ibon Obeso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Simões having to interfere. MarquinhosEC's Horácio Vides was substituted for Mark Kovalev. In the 79th minute Curt Montes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MarquinhosEC's Zézinho Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xie Shu Tian in the 82nd minute of play.
