Kelvin Stiles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Borospatak SC's goalkeeper Kenny Rothwell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tim Stevens. 20 minutes into the match, Thē Ŵhïppętś's goal looked a bit too open when Dragoş Boieru came free, but Kelvin Stiles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tim Stevens kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Wayne Rooney kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kenny Rothwell. That made the score 1-1 in the 26 minute of play. Marcus Rashford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Kenny Rothwell made a huge save. In the 31st minute Sergiu Bociort shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kelvin Stiles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Borospatak SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeriu Opaina to maneuver through the defense. Borospatak SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Marcus Rashford scored to the left of an out of position Kenny Rothwell, making the score, 2-1. Kelvin Stiles was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Wayne Rooney made the kick off in the second half. Kenny Rothwell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wayne Rooney went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. 74 minutes into the game, Wayne Rooney cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Fábio Best kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Thē Ŵhïppętś's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
