Ilkka Markkula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Van Hautvinck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Shi Yuan got a free kick in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportes Santa Cruz's zone, Dirk Damman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilkka Markkula came out of the goal and Dirk Damman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manu Rosseels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Tupper in the 30th minute of the match. Christoffel Tobbackers hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Alpina FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Herald Kempenaerts hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Qu Zheng Song got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manu Rosseels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Edström in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute Daniel Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilkka Markkula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Alpina FC's goalkeeper Manu Rosseels had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcus Edström. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Trayko Gradinarski took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Manu Rosseels to make any attempt to save it. In the 95th minute, Herald Kempenaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 98 minutes into the match, Alpina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yan Zhi Chuan came free, but Manu Rosseels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
