The crowd rose to their feet as Vinícius Junior kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zarando Calva. That made the score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Janes Gobbelijns got free with Edgardo Oinaz in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute Martijn Jol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zarando Calva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aires Laguno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stommeer A were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Atlético de Caracas for a fine match.
