Luís Paulo Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aires Laguno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Aires Laguno took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Luís Paulo Paraíba to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Real Cruzeiro FC's Luís Paulo Paraíba got control of the ball when Rolando Alley tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the referee ended the match the Atlético de Caracas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
